Look who’s got something cookin! Yup it’s true “baby” number 3 is bakin…and should make his or her arrival this July. Yes it’s a total shocker…not planned! I mean my babies are 9 and 10 and the 10 year old has less than 2 weeks before she is 11. I’m very excited to have a new subject whom unlike my son won’t be able to run from me or my camera for about a year.

Morning sickness I *think* is finally over WOO-HOO…what a doozie that was! Up until now only my family knew so here I am coming clean to the world. {sigh I feel better already}
note I really just exhaled!

My deepest apologies for being slow in returning emails and phone calls to everyone. {Including my mom} I’m working on a schedule for this spring/summer. So if you were *thinking* about booking or wanted to book please contact me now so we can get your date on the books. Rolling around 7-8 months pregnant wouldn’t be cute….LOL

*SIGH* there I said it! I can’t thank my clients enough who happen to be extremely patient with me during the holiday - morning sickness - illness of my dear grandma and her passing. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

To all my Y2K & newer moms out there feel free to send me all your links/secrets/reviews/and all things on newborns :-)

Oh and she would kill me if I didn’t say something…my girl took these images for me during the first falling of the snow yesterday. She has a wonderful eye and will make a wonderful big sister not to mention photographer!

it’s time to help. | Loudoun County Photographer

hhlogosmall-snl

Much like when Katrina happened, watching the news on the horrible situation in Haiti saddens and frustrates me. There are many incredibly brave men and women who are out there volunteering their time and risking their lives to help. I wish I was in a position and of strong enough constitution to do the same.

But I’m not.

So instead, I’m teaming up with Helping Hearts! My mentor/across the miles friend Michele Anderson of Pinkle Toes Photography, and her dear friend Lyndsay Stradtner of Life in Motion Photography, decided that together, we need to do something to help. But, we need you, too! Here’s the deal:

Your littlest sweetheart could win a helping hearts photo session in the heart of downtown Leesburg!
• This session will be photographed by myself and will be held before 5pm onFriday, February 5th.
• Session is for up to 3 children (6 months and older) and will last between 1-2 hours.
• Winner will also receive 25 fully processed, high resolution images on CD. Print to your heart’s content!

How to win:
• Make a MINIMUM donation of $10 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund .
• Forward a copy of your receipt to snlprophoto@gmail.com.
• All entries must be RECEIVED by midnight (Eastern time) on January 27th.
• To keep things fair donations have to be dated from today thru the 27th .
• Winner will be drawn at random and announced on January 28th.
• That gives you a week to shop for the perfect sweetheart outfit, if need be. ;-)
• You can enter as many times as you’d like, but each entry must be the minimum $10 donation.

Other details:
• Session participants must sign a model release.
• Session must be held in Leesburg on Feb. 5th.
• If the winner does not claim his/her prize by Feb. 1st or cannot claim the prize, then another winner will be drawn.

And PLEASE blog, Tweet or share this link on Facebook!

Meanwhile, here are some littlest sweethearts pics from a recent session to get you in the spirit:

Grandma Ginny | Loudoun County Photographer

To my Grandma Ginny! (dads mom)
Thank you for the warm hugs and kisses. The delicious “Lincoln food” for letting me sleep in your bed every Monday night while we watched TV. For taking me out on Tuesday’s to run all your errands. For sending me to the corner store to pick something up for you but always telling me to get what I want. For calling not just me but all of us “Grandma’s baby” For being the Rock of our family. For the BEST Sunday dinners! For taking me to Sunday School. We hate not having you around!

This image was taken years ago when she still worked as the “Pie Lady” at Hill High Orchard in Round Hill Va.

catching up | Loudoun County Photographer

It looks like my internet service is starting to work-itself out. {thank goodness} Things have been crazy around here and I’m trying hard to get back in the swing of things. I’m behind on blogging and going to do my best to catch up.

I want to start with this sweet sweet baby girl that I recently met. She belongs to this lovely couple!
I promised Rob that I would come back and allow him to post the blog entry for his maternity images however lots of things happen and I never got around to posting so I’m doing that now. Here is what R had to say about waiting for his newborn…first born.

So Stacy has invited me to write a blog entry for the sneak peak of our maternity shots. I’ve been staring at the super sneak photo she posted for the past 10 minutes wondering what to write and I’m kinda stuck. I feel like the image she has captured says everything I could say and more. I can see my love for Mandy and our connection. I see my joy at becoming a father and my amazement at this process of creation. I can see the exciting prospect of things to come. And if I look close enough, I can see a precious little life tucked inside that beautiful belly, swollen with pure potential.

Thank you Stacy! Thank you for helping us capture these moments. Thank you for your guidance and expertise and for your kind words and keen eye. Just when we thought we couldn’t be more excited about what’s happening, you turned it up a notch. I can’t wait to see the rest of the sneak peak and am looking forward to our future sessions in the months and years to come.

R

R & M this image happens to be one of my FAVORITE images hands down. The love connection is nothing short of magical! Here’s to 2010. What a way to start the year.

Giving is Awesome | Loudoun County Photographer

Last year I took part of Giving is Awesome. Which was kick started by a photographer in New Jersey that caused over 500 photographers to donate over $565,000 worth of custom photography to deserving people around the world. WOW weee! This year I have decided that I *must* participate again! So it’s time….

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $2000 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives an absolutely free session with Stacy Nicole and some dynamite products! What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in the metro area including Charles Town, WV as well as Dover DE. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : snlprophoto@gmail.com.

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

And because a post without a picture is no fun, this little one was from my 2008 Giving is Awesome session!

With love,
