Yup *another* party blog! But this time you really should grab a cup of coffee, tea or a beer whichever is your choice to drink because this is a LONG post!

I’ve said it time and time again. I absolutely love when my clients become friends! This particular client as not only become MY friend but her hubby and my husfriend hit it off (no thanks to the PlayStation among other common likes) and the babies….sigh Kaylah and Jackson they are 19 days apart and play so well together!

Jackson was able to make it to Kaylah’s 1st Birthday and this past weekend we made it to his!

Let me rewind for a moment because I’ve been a bad blogger and never blogged what your about to see…

I’ve had the pleasure of capturing this sweet little guy since he was hummm 4 months and you can see that session here AND then I saw him for 8 months …
YES I already said it I’m a bad blogger and this is the FIRST time you are seeing these….UNLESS you’re a fan over on Facebook



AND then I got to see him again for his first birthday …. smash the cake wasn’t the way we all hoped but gosh it was so much fun!


AND FINALLY….the party….man oh man mom did a wonderful job on the planning. I think she should take up party planning on the side…..tell me what you think




We had so much fun at the party. While I wasn’t there as the photographer I knew I had to bring my camera with me. I’m so glad I did. The details are lovely. We had such a good time. Kaylah got to see Elmo & she came home with Dorthy the fish….which by the way is still swimming in her bowl.

Thanks mom for sending me the party stats! Thanks for being the best client ever! But more importantly thanks for being our friends!

YES 3 weeks….
This session has been a LONG time in the making! Mom and I have been chatting for over a year before she knew Miss L was on her way.

It’s still January so I can still say that right? Well for those that didn’t hear my computer decided that it was going to wrap it up for 2010 and died just before the New Year! It took some time but I have a brand new “monsta” {that’s what the husfriend calls it}. I’m in love with it! Getting everything set up on it has been a task but I’m almost there!

What can I say about this session……1. it was FREEZING…..2. It’s been in the works for what seems like forever….3. did I mention how freaking cold it was???? I mean really the high was 27 …..27….my fingers became so numb it was almost impossible to work the controls on my camera….lol

Momma and I have been trying to get together for over a year now. When we finally had a date that we both were open for she jumped on it and packed her family up for the *almost* 2 hour drive to meet me. {shesh what an honor seriously} Her kids and hubby were total troopers! We headed up to Skyline Drive to wonder around. It made for a beautiful backdrop.


Momma your little ones are not only beautiful but funny and incredibility smart!


I think it’s safe to say the older kids had the most fun….they loved looking out over the mountains and playing!


I couldn’t resit capturing mother nature while there. I mean look at it it’s breathtaking!



Thanks V family it was a cold but wonderful session! Our pit stop for hot chocolate made it all worth it!

Facebook is a wonderful thing! It’s a place to post updates to your friends on your family, kids, work, pregnancy and birth and all the in-betweens of life. It connects you with high school & long lost friends like no other! It’s the best networking tool ever {why didn’t I think of it??} I mean really it’s unbelievable the long lost connections that I’ve made on there. So back to this post....I did something *crazy* and went to this session… my newborn session empty handed….what does that mean I ONLY packed my camera bag nothing else. No beanbag, no heater, no bowls, no blankets no moving in….I’m talking just me my camera and my lens…I WAS scared! I mean scared! I’ve always carried those things to my newborn sessions. But I was thrilled when I asked mom what I always ask my clients…what are your goals for our session….her answer “a family image” JACKPOT there was my chance to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I’m so so very glad I did! {Photographers I challenge you to try this at least once}

Check out this lil sweetie! Originally her mom and I planned to do a maternity session but her sweet Miss Mollie had other plans and arrived before we could have our shoot.

I just want to bottle her up and keep her like this forever! We all know that time goes by way to fast. I love her so! It’s so nice to have a model that won’t run or turn away from me!


As you can see I just love her feet….I have a thing for baby feet!


I love her hands! She plays with her hair when she is eating and when she is tired it’s the cutest thing EVER!


It’s a known fact that I have NO lashes! And I was sad when she came into this world looking like she was going to take after mommy and have none as well however I’ve noticed lately that they seem to be growing….so grow lashes grow!

Her big “sissy” was chatting with her while she was in her swing and I just love the facial expressions she was making here! These just make me smile!
