It’s still January so I can still say that right? Well for those that didn’t hear my computer decided that it was going to wrap it up for 2010 and died just before the New Year! It took some time but I have a brand new “monsta” {that’s what the husfriend calls it}. I’m in love with it! Getting everything set up on it has been a task but I’m almost there!

Now how about a contest! Get ready for our 1st Annual Image of the YEAR! I will start selecting my fav images and posting them here on the blog, at the end of the year I will put them all together and let YOU vote! Kaylah is a breath of fresh air to say the least in our lives. God sent her here to us with a sure fire plan and mission. You see 2 weeks before we found out about her I was laid off from what was then my full time job (you know up early fight the traffic punch the clock sit in a cubical full time job)

Lets back up some to November 2009, when I found out we were expecting I was filled with emotions; scared, happy, scared, surprised, scared, thrilled, scared, excited, scared anxious did I say scared? But then I had to remember what the bible says and what I try so hard to teach my oldest 2 children.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6

After I re-gained my composure I thanked God (then took 2 more test, then laughed, cried and called my bff) We giggled like we were in the 7th grade all over again. Blushing and laughing the entire time we started plotting on ideas of how to tell daddy. You see Miss K is his FIRST baby (that so equals the recipe for a spoiled kid…first grand-baby and Nana’s bo-bo can you say TROUBLE) So how I told him had to be good. We first came up with placing a note in a pot that read “we’ve got something bakin” but that didn’t work out so instead I wrote on my stomach “HI DADDY” so he could read it. It took him a bit to really get it and then it hit him….that look in his eyes….the smile that we haven’t been able to remove from his proud face!


Maya and Isaiah have been my life. My joys. I had them early (in my 20′s) back to back (they are 15 1/2 months apart) those 2 have kept my life so full. But I always knew something was missing that I had more room in my heart for another child I just didn’t think it would ever happen.

About 7 years ago I had a very large ovarian cyst removed that was so big they had to remove my ovary as well. So I’m working with only one. AND when I had my son I had complications that almost took me out of this world (prayer is a powerful thing I’m telling you) so I truly just didn’t think it was ever going to happen again, but I was wrong and so so happy I was.

Kaylah my dear, my 3rd child. The ones who’s hugs I adore, who’s smell is yummy, the one that laughs at her big brother ever time she looks at him, the one that coo’s for her big sister and chats with her, the one who has an amazing bond with her father, my answered prayer, my big eyed girl, you are our princess you keep us on our toes, our sugar and spice for sure.

We have mini sessions all the time because I know all to well how fast this time will go by. The other day we were playing in the floor and enjoying the afternoon when mommy remember I didn’t do our monthly scarf images so off we go to the master bedroom where the light is simply divine. It’s been many years coming and I can’t tell you how blessed and full I now feel because of you. These images that we created tell and show me that. I love you more than you will ever be able to know. I found this poem that reminds me of you.

As I stood and watched you sleeping,
the moonlight kissed your face. My
heart is overwhelmed with your
beauty and your grace. How precious
and so delicate is your tiny little hand And the
sweetness of your lips and eyes is nothing less
than grand. Your spirit and your softness tenderly
sets my heart aglow, with a love so deep and
infinite that only a mother could know. So tonight
I count my blessings for my darling, baby dear,
for surely God did hear my heart and answer

I decided to show both color and black and white because they both speak to me equally. The black and white is timeless but the color is classic and again I say yummy! Thanks for listening to the Kaylah story….please stay with me on her journey with us. I know my blog and facebook page is covered with pictures of her but she is my cover girl and well I’m so dang proud and in love…






So in closing….I’m thankful for answered prayers! I’m thankful for my children and my family! I’m thankful for all my clients!

Facebook is a wonderful thing! It’s a place to post updates to your friends on your family, kids, work, pregnancy and birth and all the in-betweens of life. It connects you with high school & long lost friends like no other! It’s the best networking tool ever {why didn’t I think of it??} I mean really it’s unbelievable the long lost connections that I’ve made on there. So back to this post....I did something *crazy* and went to this session… my newborn session empty handed….what does that mean I ONLY packed my camera bag nothing else. No beanbag, no heater, no bowls, no blankets no moving in….I’m talking just me my camera and my lens…I WAS scared! I mean scared! I’ve always carried those things to my newborn sessions. But I was thrilled when I asked mom what I always ask my clients…what are your goals for our session….her answer “a family image” JACKPOT there was my chance to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I’m so so very glad I did! {Photographers I challenge you to try this at least once}

Check out this lil sweetie! Originally her mom and I planned to do a maternity session but her sweet Miss Mollie had other plans and arrived before we could have our shoot.

I just want to bottle her up and keep her like this forever! We all know that time goes by way to fast. I love her so! It’s so nice to have a model that won’t run or turn away from me!


As you can see I just love her feet….I have a thing for baby feet!


I love her hands! She plays with her hair when she is eating and when she is tired it’s the cutest thing EVER!


It’s a known fact that I have NO lashes! And I was sad when she came into this world looking like she was going to take after mommy and have none as well however I’ve noticed lately that they seem to be growing….so grow lashes grow!

Her big “sissy” was chatting with her while she was in her swing and I just love the facial expressions she was making here! These just make me smile!

ok ok ok I’ve heard and seen enough….man there are some DIE hard CRAZY fans in this area! Yes it’s no secret that the Redskins took the win last night…Congrats to them! Sorry Cowboy fans…..please know that I’m not a fan! There I said it…. I’m NOT a Cowboys fan….but WAIT….I’m not a Redskins fan either YUP said it again….you see the fact is I really could care less for football wait… I take that back…There is NOTHING like little league football. I love watching the little guys play…..they are so cute when they get their game faces on! OH and YES there is NOTHING like being there live for a game be it professional, college or our little guys in the stands shouting and enjoying the energy that true die hard football fans put off.

Today I’ve spent my energy being on Team Mommy! I love my girl…..and Daddy NOPE she doesn’t like the 49ers you see she is Team MOMMY all the way!
